The problem.

Unfortunately, conventional root barrier installation relies on good access for a large machine to excavate a deep trench.

Sites with limited or poor access have always proven too problematic to effectively install a suitable root barrier meaning that alternative, more expensive solutions are often adopted to stabilise houses.

What is a compact barrier?

The compact barrier is first formed using a series of augered bores which are interconnecting to form a secant trench. Bespoke lined tubing is then inserted into the trench which then provides an impregnable barrier.

Why use a compact barrier?

The compact barrier is our solution for root barrier installations where tight access makes conventional root barriers impossible to install. The compact installation equipment and barrier materials can be conveyed through a standard door opening. With our new barrier system, areas such as rear gardens, previously deemed inaccessible for root barrier installations are now ideal locations for compact barriers removing the need to install costly and disruptive substructure schemes.
